Here is a fun type of sangria that is just great to mix up for the Independence Day holiday, to toast your friends at a barbeque this summer or just for a day of relaxing on the patio. Some Limoncello gives this type of sangria some added pizzazz and style.

Things to make it:

  • A bottle of one of the following kinds of white wines: Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling,   Chardonnay,  Albarino, Viognier or Gewurztraminer
  • One cup of blueberries
  • Two shots of Limoncello
  • One cup of either raspberries or strawberries, either fresh or frozen
  • Two cups of ginger ale
  • A third of a cup of sugar, to taste

Put it together:

Decant the white wine into a decanter. Put in the blueberries, raspberries and/or strawberries. Mix in the sugar and the shots of Limoncello. Make sure everything is mixed up well. Put it in the refrigerator overnight to get cold. After removing the sangria from the refrigerator, mix in the ginger ale and some ice just a few minutes before you serve it.

If you just cannot wait, then use some already chilled white wine and crushed up ice in addition.
