Typically, the very finest sangrias are put together at least 24 hours ahead of time and left in the refrigerator overnight so the flavors can all settle and mix together. If you are in a situation where you just have to have some sangria right this very moment, this great recipe may be the ticket to your dilemma.
Preparation Time: Ten minutes
Total Creation Time: Ten minutes
What goes into it:
- A bottle of either red wine or white wine
- A whole lime
- A whole orange
- A whole lemon
- A half of a cup of strawberries
- A whole cup of raspberries
- Two cups of ginger ale
- A half of a cup of sugar
Putting it together:
Even though this sangria is called instant, it does require a bit of work ahead of time. The first thing you must do is take out the seeds and peels from the lime, orange and lemon. Add these to a blender, along with the other fruit, ginger ale and sugar. Don’t put in the wine yet. Mix it all up in the blender and get it to a slush-like consistency. Put this mixture into some ice cube trays and pop it into the freezer. After they are totally frozen, place all of the Sangria ice cubes into a freezer bag and keep it on hand in your freezer. Then, if you suddenly get the urge to have some sangria, all you have to do is get a glass of red or white wine and use several of the sangria ice cubes with your wine, mix and enjoy!
