California is home to some of the most exquisite bottles of wine, and they are appreciated in one-of-a-kind way. This is when a famous mall decided to dedicate a space in tribute to California’s best vineyards and history of wine making.

“TEMECULA —- Promenade Temecula has announced the May 31 opening of its Wine Walk experience —- a permanent installation in the mall’s outdoor plaza that will bring the history and culture of the region’s prominent wineries to visitors.

The new Wine Walk experience is between Yard House and Pottery Barn in the outdoor shopping plaza, according to Jeff Kurtz, general manager for Promenade Temecula.

Shoppers can experience the artistically designed vineyard gardens through a self-guided tour that is open daily. The installation is made up of a series of stylized shadowboxes featuring individual stories and historical information about each winery, the grapes grown and used, and the wines they produce.

The Wine Walk experience is an authentic reflection of each winery, as grapevines from each winemaker have been planted alongside the correlating shadowboxes, providing shoppers with the added benefit of understanding how these grapes are grown, cultivated and ultimately transformed into award-winning wines.

“The Temecula Valley is increasingly becoming the destination for California wine, and we are fortunate to partner with such prominent local wineries to offer this new experience to our guests,” Kurtz said in a news release.

Featured winemakers include: South Coast Winery Resort and Spa, Wilson Creek Winery, Leoness Cellars, Robert Renzoni Vineyards, Gershon Bachus Vintners and Briar Rose Winery.

In addition to the Wine Walk, wines from each of the six partner wineries have been paired with some of Promenade Temecula’s select restaurants. Featured wines will be served at Lazy Dog Cafe, P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, Yard House, California Pizza Kitchen, Sushi Boat and Lucille’s Smokehouse BBQ.

  • A couple of bottles of dry red wine
  • A bottle of sweet white wine

  • A cup each of raisins, blanched almonds and sugar

The procedure is fairly simple. First, combine all three wines in a saucepan that is large enough for all the ingredients to fit.   • Should you use red wine, Zinfandel and merlot will give you good result.  Should you prefer white wine, meanwhile, Riesling and Viognier are good choices.
